Bogojvar and Villa Lujza

Bogojvar, or in translation, The Owl’s tower, and villa Lujza were built in 1892 in the sports complex of Lajoš Vermeš, a prominent athlete and founder of Palić Olympics in 1880. The villas were built in the then fashionable Swiss style, with abundant use of wood and tiles made of the famous Zolnai ceramics. In that place there used to be an asphalt bike path, stands, pavilions for exercise, outdoor theater and a café, and now, there is a bust of Lajoš Vermeš standing next to Bogojvar.
